About Role

The Tax Manager /Senior Manager will be involved in management, comprehensive review, and quality control of a diverse portfolio of complex US and Other Countries tax engagements. This position demands a high level of technical mastery across various tax forms, exceptional managerial skills, and the adaptability to coordinate or review filings in international jurisdictions.

Knowledge & Expertise Requirements

  • US Tax (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120/1120-S):
    • In-Depth Knowledge of Subchapter C (Corporate), Subchapter K (Partnership), and Subchapter S (S-Corp) taxation, including the associated complex federal and multi-state compliance requirements.
    • Expertise in book-to-tax adjustments (Schedule M-1/M-3), stock basis/capital account maintenance, and the proper handling of complex deductions and credits (e.g., R&D, Depreciation), Tax consolidations
    • Knowledge in PFICs, complex Partnership and HNIs.
  • International/Non-US Tax Adaptability:
    • Knowledge of US Outbound International Tax provisions (e.g., GILTI, Subpart F, Foreign Tax Credits) and related forms (5471, 8865, 8993).
    • Demonstrated skill in managing, coordinating, or reviewing tax returns for foreign entities and/or individuals (e.g., Canadian, UK, European VAT filings, India GST ) as a process leader, even if deep preparation expertise is outsourced.
  • Tax Research & Problem Solving:
    • Proven ability to conduct advanced tax research using professional platforms to analyze complex technical issues and provide clear, documented conclusions.
  • Tax Provision (ASC 740):
    • Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes) and the ability to review tax provisions for corporate clients, including FIN 48 (uncertain tax positions).

Key Skills & Management Responsibilities

  • Review and Quality Control:
    • Perform the final, comprehensive review of complex, multi-entity federal and state deliverables, ensuring technical accuracy.
    • Implement and enforce rigorous quality control standards and workflow processes across the entire team.
    • Substantial contribution towards process and product feature development relating to Tax
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Manage, mentor, and develop the team including goal setting, performance evaluations, and personalized coaching on technical and professional growth.
    • Lead resource planning and allocation to ensure all compliance deadlines are met efficiently across the varied client portfolio.
  • Client Management:
    • Handling of complex queries on tax matters (e.g., transaction implications) and deliverables
    • Proactively identify and discuss the impact of new tax legislation, new product features and others.
  • Process and Technology:
    • Expert proficiency in multiple professional tax software platforms (e.g., GoSystem, CCH Axcess, UltraTax).
    • Drive the adoption of tax technology and process improvements to streamline compliance efforts and improve operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with the full compliance lifecycle for Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120/1120-S.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage client relationships and engagements.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex tax matters for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and strict adherence to quality and timeliness
